The staff was so friendly we felt right at home. We chatted like old buddies and the atmosphere was so quaint and laid back, we didn't want to leave. It's right on the water and had a really nice pool/ deck/ patio area with pool tables and bar-b-que pits, so dinner was in the air (there's nothing like the salty wind off the water blowing past you with the kick of brisket.) I highly recommended it. It's family oriented and affordable with a spectaular view, great breakfast, fluffy pillows, and fabulous staff!

I can't think of anything that we had a problem with. The mattress was a little firm (but our mattress at home is a luxury plush) and the bathroom needed a new shower head but that's about it.

I loved the CLEAN rooms and the helpful, friendly staff.

Staying on the second floor was nice (I would choose it again) but when other guests up there go up and down the stairs it can get quite noisy. But over all it wasn't bad.

Great staff, we have had a nice time with them, in the morning as foreigners they make the pancakes for us (waffles). They have clean and huge rooms, near the water and good beds.

  • Older travelers

What a surprise this motel was at the low cost! Even though it was a older motel it had Large clean rooms with small kitchen, microwave, table, ref.Great to bring in a to go dinner. AND RIGHT ACROSS the street from the harbor, nice lighted pier and at the motel they had covered picnic area with BQs,pool tables and a pool for family enjoyment. PET FRIENDLY. small fee per pet. WILL GO BACK AND ALSO TELL MY FRIENDS OF THE GREAT DEAL.

For $50/night - it was clean and the bed was comfortable

no hot water in the shower

Location was great. It is very loud at night. You can hear your neighbors way to easy. So if you need to sleep forget about it. No fire alarm in room it was yanked from the ceiling.

The staff is super friendly and the location is convenient for coastal trips. The beds were comfortable and the kitchenette is also convenient. The pool was very clean and there is a small covered area for eating outside.

The towels were either stained or dirty and the room smelled like "old motel".

  • Family with children

Best staff ever. The rooms were newly remodeled with new paint, tile, windows and doors. The hotel certainly has a family feel to it. Pool tables under the pavilion, several nice bbq grills, adequate pool and a nice long pier for fishing. If you are coming to enjoy the Fulton Beach area and spend quality time with your family, you can't beat the value of this hotel. If your idea of a vacation is laying around the room and enjoying the amenities, better find a more expensive place. Sportsman Manor is geared with the fisherman in mind as is the bayfront of Fulton Beach and Rockport. However, for the value we found it worthwhile to stay here and make the approximately 1 hour drive to Mustang Island.

  • Family with children

The people there are great, super nice and friendly. They have a great fishing pier that made it fun to hang out and catch some fish at night. Plenty of long parking spaces to accomodate our truck and boat trailer. It was great to have a big refrigerator, sink and stove in the room. For the money it was just what I was looking for. I was out fishing most of the time and just needed a place to come back and take a shower and relax.

Everything in the room is dated but it was all functional. For the price we paid I can't really say I was dissapointed with anything.

It had everything you need from throomto the picnic area with bbq. Pit tables and even pool tablesand most of all the 24hour fishing peir. It was just awesome.

What is their not to like. Even the price was very reasonable.

  • Group of friends

The motel had a great location, got to utilize their fishing pier which was just across the street.

  • Family with children

At check in the clerk was friendly. We did not know there was a continental breakfast. The reservation said so. Too many kids unsupervised for breakfast with messy faces and unwashed hands. T ooo many small roaches crawing from the room baseboard /floor,spacing, room walls. Very strongly Recommend the motel roach treat and seal all gaps on the floors & throughout the room. Had too ask for a overcharge refund of one room we occupied. Please check your receipt for charges. One last thing I had to ask for are receipt. Almost left without one but I remembered reading a review on checking your charges. The rooms are large and smelled clean. We needed to ask for soap, shampoo, towels. Hope this helps. Please take some hand cleaning towels to sanitize the tv remote and other handlesfor you own health safety. I understand the bedspreads are washed once every 6 months in all Hotels / Motels. We wont stay here until a statement is made by the motel of the roach treatment !!

Employees are friendly. The buildings seem recently painted. Fishing peer is just across the street but it is a bay and is very shallow. Spoke to someone and I was told their got the bay.

  • Family with children

I liked that you could barbque at this place. Places we have been before wouldn't allow it. The motel has a variety of things that you could do which was nice. Swimming pool, patio for barbquing, pool tables. Pier where we could fish. They also allow pets and they have a washateria. But best of all was the price. $50.00 a day.

What I didn't like was that we ended up, upstairs closer to the pier but not knowing the sun hit our room which took a long time to cool.

  • Family with children

We were there for two days and tried to get out of other reservations due to having such a wonderful time there. The girls loved the pool table outside that they could mingle with other guess there age.(16). The fishing peir wa across the street and had green lights on at night to attract fish and other area hotels were upset that we had had better fishing. found this out at the walk to bait shop down the street. Mr. B and Roxy were wonderful. The pool was suppose to close at 10 but never until 11 P.M. Other people that stayed there were friendly and was very easy to get to know. Loved our stay and will be going back here. Thanks you guys.

Was unable to cancel other reservations so we could have stayed there the whole time we were there.

  • Older travelers

Misleading on their ad and didn't honor request for room that was purchased. Dirty, unkept, the whole experience was horrible, we left a day early so we would not have to spend another night in the filth.
